Piotr Galtchinski
Already during his youth in the industrial city of Wolgograd (at that time still Stalingrad) the young Petja displayed a talent for melting girls hearts with the charm of his voice and the twinkle of his eyes. After an initial blunder of trying to become an engineer he eventually came back to his real talent and studied singing as a profession. This also proved to be an excellent way of avoiding having to learn to shoot people as he was soon called into the legendary Red Army Choir. After these formative years he also performed at the Wolgograd Opera and travelled the world as a soloist in the Russian folkmusic ensemble „Istoki“. With Bajanski Bal he finally found the band where he can let the wild bear in him go loose and his charisma, energy and outbreaks of emotions on stage are often such that concert promoters have been know to seriously suggest that the band should tie him up in chains for the second half of the gig.
