Bronislaw Barabantchik (Benno Hungerbühler)
Saw the light of the world on a snowy new year’s eve in Baranya, on the border of Mongolia and Kasachstan. After being transported by force to Switzerland, and still unaware of the fact that he was predestined for greater things by his very name (literally „the slavic defender“) he first spent a few years polishing his skills as a percussionist in various capitalist musical formations and even became prominent in the strange and archaic drum-style of the Basel marching bands. Until the day when the meaty hand of Petja the bear fell on his shoulder and a powerful voice said: „Ty nash barabantschik“ (You our drummer). Since then he found his musical home.
