Andrei Ichtchenko
Born and raised in Odessa of Russian and Ukrainian parents. Already during his studies at Saratov Conservatorium – Russia’s formost musical institution for the accordion – he became notorious for his ability to run out of the classical concert hall, rip off the bow tie, throw on the old leather jacket and take center place as the Jimi Hendrix of the accordion in the local pop group. After coming to Switzerland for further studies at the music academy in Basel he soon established himself as an outstanding soloist in a variety of musical styles.
